Marketing Objectives

Marketing objectives are long-term goals that companies make in order to achieve a competitive advantage. In order to do this correctly many people use the SMART approach to marketing objectives.

Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time specific. By using this five step process it helps marketers to better narrow down to create a plan. If marketing objectives are not used in the correct way it can result in companies creating a plan that is just not viable and it could result in monetary loss or time loss within the company. By creating a marketing objective that is timely, achievable, and plausible it creates a set up that will help the company to better maximize their time.

When creating a market objective a company also has to consider what would best reflect their company. If they’re creating a goal that doesn’t align with the ethics of the company, it could end up portraying a bad image to their consumers and create a loss for the company. Considering the point of a marketing objective is to increase the companies revenue, this would be counterproductive.
